Cromgard Utility Stainless Steel is a 12% Chromium ferritic stainless steel. At American Utility Metals we are focused on this single product. We are located on the Mississippi River in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and we have another sales office in Colorado Springs. American Utility Metals teams with independently managed warehouses to ensure nationwide coverage with stock locations in Ohio, Maryland, Georgia, Kansas, Washington and California. This way we can respond to our customers' demands with speed and efficiency.

George M. Schaffer - President
An LSU graduate, Mr. Schaffer started building his experience early on, working with his father and gaining knowledge and skill in the sugar, steel fabrication and engineering industries. He later worked on projects in farming, financing, agro-industrial consulting, engineering and project management support in countries around the world. In 1997, he went into business on his own in engineering, farming and utility stainless steel sales. In 2000, he formed a partnership to start American Utility Metals. As president, he is involved in the company's financial, operational and marketing endeavors as well as sales in the U.S., Latin American and the Caribbean sugar industries. Mr. Schaffer is fluent in Spanish and maintains sugar and agricultural interests in the U.S. and abroad. Mr. Schaffer is a member of World Trade Center, American Society of Sugar Cane Technologists and is active in the Baton Rouge community having served as a board member of both Forum 35 Young Leaders Organization and Baton Rouge Green.

F.C. Schaffer - Consultant
Mr. Schaffer has over 50 years experience at his own company in the design, engineering and construction of sugar and agro Industrial projects all over the world, including at Kenana Sugar in the Sudan. In 1999, he received the inaugural Award for Corporate Excellence by the U.S. Secretary of State. The award honors a company for exemplary conduct and corporate responsibility in overseas operations. Mr. Schaffer, a chemical engineer, has been a principle in engineering and steel fabrication businesses since 1956. Mr. Schaffer is also a retired decorated Air Force Colonel having served in Combat during WWII and the Korean Conflict, and is a former Commandant of the Louisiana Air Force Reserve. As one of the founders and backers of American Utility Metals, his experience and involvement are vital elements to the sound advancement of the company.
